You've watched them in old movies and overseas. You may even have ridden on one, on the Christchurch city tramway or at Ferrymead Heritage Park. But could you drive one?
Our tram driving experience is a one-day course, run one-to-one with an experienced Driver Trainer. The day starts with an introduction to the tram, how the controls and safety features work, and a circuit of the tramway. After time in the Trambarn and lunch, you take to the track and drive on the Ferrymead system, swapping trams during the afternoon.
Once you've completed the course you may wish to join the Society, and your first year's subscription will be at a discounted rate.
